1996 The Westerns were a smaller and less powerful redesign of a German prototype first tested in 1958. 74 were built from 1961 onwards and Western Nobleman, depicted here in the BR blue livery of 1975/76, is typical of the class.
1997 Seventy-four Westerns were built from 1961 onwards, based on a larger and more powerful German prototype first tested in 1958. Western Nobleman is presented here in the B.R. blue livery of 1975/76. It is powered by a ringfield motor.
