| 2002 | A class of locomotive that is a veritable workhorse of the BR system. 135 were produced of which the first thirty were built in Romania. Introduced into traffic in 1976 the 56's are mainly used for heavy freight but can be seen on occasions, at the front of a passenger tram. The Hornby model represents the corporate colour scheme of BR in the late 1980's. Powered by a ringfield motor. |
