Model Catalogue Information

YEAR INFORMATION
2002 Exhaust smoke and fumes from the LNER Class A1 and A3‘s tended to obscure the drivers vision and a great deal of time, experimentation and money was spent to relieve the problem. 'Humorist' was used during the experimentation and one of the solutions attempted to lift the smoke clear of the cab windows was the fitting of a double chimney. Hornby's model shows 'Humorist' fitted with this type of chimney that dates the model as the prototype appeared in April 1932.
