2004 | In 1946 the ‘Golden Arrow’ Pullman service was recommenced after the service had been cancelled due to the Second World War. Leaving from London Victoria, the train travelled to Folkestone and from there the passengers were ferried over to France where they continued the journey to Paris by the French Pullman service. This Hornby Great British Train pack contains elements of the ‘Golden Arrow’ as it would have been seen speeding through the Kent countryside in the summer of 1949. The locomotive, number 34074 had yet to be named while the coach stock was quite simply 1st class, as befitting the first class service demanded by the would be continental traveller. |
