YEAR INFORMATION
2001 After the success of the Merchant Navy Class, O.V.S Bulleid was encouraged to design a lightweight version of the MN’s. The result was the introduction of the West Country/Battle Of Britain Classes. 21C110 ‘Sidmouth’ was built at Eastleigh and outshopped in 1945. The familiar Southern Malachite livery was replaced in 1950 when the locomotive was re-numbered 34010 and acquired the BR emblem and the more sombre BR green. The new Hornby model which includes a 5 pole motor housed in the locomotive, has amongst its many detail features sprung buffers, fine scale valve gear, separately fitted handrails and glazed cab, plus much more.
