YEAR INFORMATION
2001 The Patriots, as introduced during Henry Fowler’s time, were officially rebuilds of the earlier LNWR 'Claughton' class, after which the locomotive 'Patriot' was named as a memorial of the 1914-1918 war, with many of the class remaining in service to the end of the steam era. The excellent Hornby model represented in BR green has the distinctive tender of the class housing the ringfield motor. The tender includes separate coal rails while the locomotive incorporates separately fitted blackened handrails and wheels.
