2001 | The Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway was an amalgamation of two mid-nineteenth century companies which operated initially on two gauges - Narrow and Broad. In 1923 the S & DJR became jointly owned by the LMS and SR, but their engines still retained the blue and gold lettering livery for another seven years - as reflected by Hornby's ex LMS 2P model. The model is tender driven by a ringfield motor which is electrically linked to the drive wheel pickups for smooth running over points. Separately fitted hand rails and body detail complete a fine model. |
