| 2002 | James Kennedy was a Security Officer with British Rail Engineering Ltd at Glasgow who was posthumously awarded the George Cross for his unselfish bravery. On 12 November 1981 at Glasgow Central railway station. Class 86 no. 86242 was named ‘James Kennedy GC' and is the subject of this new Hornby model. The model has a working pantograph that will allow control from an overhead catenary system as well as via the rail in the conventional manner. Powered by a ringfield motor. |
