On 12 November 1981 at Glasgow Central railway station. Class 86 no. 86242 was named ‘James Kennedy GC' and is the subject of this new Hornby model. The model has a working pantograph that will allow control from an overhead catenary system as well as via the rail in the conventional manner. Powered by a ringfield motor.
