Year Information: On June 2nd 1995, on the East Coast Mainline, Class 91 Sir Henry Royce hauling a train filled with dignitaries over a section of track between Grantham and Peterborough, set a new British Record of 154 mph for a train carrying passengers. Although the Hornby model is not capable of such speeds it can pick-up current to power its ringfield motor from either the roof mounted pantograph or via the wheels direct from the track.
