Year Information: During the Second World War there was a need by the War Department for a six-wheel locomotive. Three hundred and seventy seven Class J94’s were eventually produced for the department with the first of the Austerity Class entering War service in 1943. The distinctive, lined, blue livery of the Hornby model (adopted from the Royal Engineers colours) with cab interior detail depicts the LMR (Longmoor Military Railway) Austerity in all its post war glory. Powered by a Type 7 motor the model also has sprung buffers.
