Year Information: Many Black 5's were built after the Second World War because of their economy of construction, ease of maintenance and versatility. Their 6 feet diameter driving wheels allowed for an even greater turn of speed than the 8F’s and they were consequently ideal for passenger traffic. The totally new model has correct length body, improved tender, metal handrails throughout and has been equipped to cater for DCC. The motor is hidden underneath the highly detailed locomotive body which, amongst other features, includes sprung buffers.
