Model Information: In 1990 a group of like minded people came together in a belief that they could construct from new a Peppercorn A1 Pacific locomotive. After a period of nearly 20 years the dream became a reality when in 2008 locomotive number, 60162 'Tornado' moved under its own power. In the relatively short period of time in which 'Tornado' has been in operation, the locomotive has been built up an impressive fan base for wherever the locomotive goes huge crowds flock to see this marvel of determination and fortitude.
The new Hornby model is represented in the familiar Apple Green of the early British Railways colour scheme and has been additionally enhanced with greater livery detail in keeping with the 'Tornado' as seen in its formative years.
Etched nameplates are provided for modeller application to further enhance the overall appearance of the model.
