Year: 1978
Catalogue Number: R.866
Year Information: This powerful mixed traffic locomotive was rebuilt by Gresley in the 1930s from an earlier Holden design. The class was as equally at home on freight pick-up duties as on passenger work and put up some sterling performances on the night continental expresses of the period. An example of the class has been preserved by the North Norfolk Railway. The Hornby model is fitted with Magnadhesion, finer scale wheels, full cab detail and is finished in the traditional LNER Apple Green livery.
