Year Information: This Battle Of Britain Class locomotive entered service in January 1947 and was officially withdrawn in September 1964. However there are records indicating that this locomotive continued to be worked in traffic after this date. The Hornby model now has improved bodywork with particular attention being paid to the loco body sides and the tender. The valve gear has also been upgraded as well as the motor which is now a Type 7.
