Year Information: Named after the Fighter Squadron that flew out of Biggin Hill in the Second World War, the locomotive ’92 Squadron’ first appeared in 1948 carrying a malachite livery but with the newly formed British Railways name on the tender. The locomotive was withdrawn in 1964, but by the end of 1976 was destined for preservation. The Hornby model is heavily detailed and incorporates scale wheels and valve gear, correct profiles tender, cab interior and separately fitted components with a 5 pole motor housed in the locomotive.
