Year Information: Built at the Brighton Works in 1947. 'Tangmere' was one of the few of its Class not to be rebuilt. However, the locomotive did receive two liveries - the first being in British Railways lined malachite and the second the more sober BR green with the running number becoming 34067. As with the Hornby West Country models, these close cousins feature extensive detailing with fine scale wheels and valve gear, interior cab detail, individually fitted handrails plus a variety of additional features. The Hornby 'Tangmere', carrying the late BR emblem, is powered by a 5 pole motor with pickups on all 6 driving wheels which allow for superb control at slow speeds.
