1972	This fine scale model locomotive has the new Ringfield motor of very low consumption postitioned in the locomotive tender.
1973	Superbly detailed body and hand lining and coppered chimney and pipework.
1973c	Powerful tender drive locomotive.
1974	Fitted with finely detailed valve gear and articulated coupling rods to allow operation on small radius curves. Current pick-up through the eight flanged locomotive driving wheels.
1975	Finely detailed valve gear and articulated coupling rods to allow operation on small radius curves.
1977	Coppered chimney cap and side pipework.
1978	Evening Star, the last steam loco to be built by BR was fully finished in lined green livery to mark the event. The remaining 250 locomotives of the class were black (and generally dirty!). The finely detailed Hornby model has a fully fitted cab, brake gear and scale wheels with the central driver unflanged in accord with prototype practice. Power is provided by a tender mounted Ringfield Silver Seal motor. Evening Star can be seen at York National Railway Museum.

1988	The popular Hornby model is now reintroduced in an improved form with separate wire handrails and reversing rods.
