1978 The 509 locomotives of this Sulzer engined class introduced in 1962 are spread over all the regions of British Rail and can be seen on fitted freight and passenger services in most parts of the country. The Hornby model has full cab interior detail, illuminated headcodes which change automatically with the direction of travel and is well finished in standard BR blue. The Ringfield Silver Seal motor unit captures the massive hauling power of the prototype.
