1978	This class of locomotive became the standard GWR general purpose tank engine after 1929. The 863 locomotives, all built at Swindon, were popular throughout the GWR and survivors include one preserved at Tyseley Steam Centre in Birmingham. The Hornby model is fitted with Magnadhesion and has finer scale wheels. Some of the class were used by London Transport.
