Year Information: Introduced in 1927, the King Class locomotives were used on the major express services of the GWR where they quickly built up an excellent reputation and to many people still epitomise the high point of steam traction. This supurb Hornby model is tender driven by a Silver Seal Ringfield motor and incorporates finer scale wheels with underframe and full cab details. The handrails are fitted separately. The prototype King Edward I is currently undergoing restoration.
